Lyvia Misegades led the way for the Hornets with 24 points, making all 6 of her free throw attempts. She was joined in double digits by Faith Fisher with 12 points. Lily Fraki and Natalie Eckhoff finished with 9 and 8 points, respectively.
“Sluggish start led to a 22-2 deficit for us early on in this one,” commented WDC Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “Liked our gritty response to crawl back within 6 at half. We had a couple offensive lulls in the second half and just couldn’t make our way back into the game. Found out the hard way that you have to compete the full 36 minutes against great teams like Henning. Lessons learned!”
Maddie Carsten poured in 23 points, 17 of them in the first half, to lead Wadena-Deer Creek. Montana Carsten was also in double figures with 11. Addy Gravelle and Payton Gravelle chipped in with 7 points each.
Henning (18-1) has won 18 straight games and will play at Sebeka on Saturday night.
Wadena-Deer Creek (10-8) will host Crookston on Friday night.
