Mason Hammer reach 1,000 career points early in the first half of Friday night’s 68-33 Henning boys’ basketball victory over New York Mills. Hammer was one of four Hornets in double figures, finishing with 10 points. He also had 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds.
Tyson Misegades led the Horents with 15 points, while adding 4 assists and a pair of steals. Lane Dilly and Carter Dilly added 11 points each. Lane also had 4 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Carter and Hammer each blocked a pair of shots and Lane had one block. Tyson Misegades chipped in with 8 points and dished out 4 assists. He also had 4 steals. The Hornets shot 47% (27-57) from the field.
“Another good PRC road win tonight,” commented Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We jumped out to a big lead early and then extended the margin, leading 60-16 just a few minutes into the second half. A lot of guys were able to get substantial varsity minutes, which was great for our team. Huge test for our team tomorrow against one of the best teams in Minnesota Class A Basketball, Cass Lake-Bena in Perham. We are excited for the challenge.”
New York Mills was led by 17 points from Brayden Ehnert and 8 rebounds from Teagan Lausten. The Eagles shot just 31% from the field and made only 3-of-17 from beyond the arc.
New York Mills, still searching for their first win, will host Verndale on Thursday night.
