The Henning girls’ basketball team broke open a close game with a 45 point second half, recording a 77-37 victory over Battle Lake on Thursday night.  The Hornets led 32-25 at the half.  Henning forced 31 turnovers to help key the victory.

Lyvia Misegades was snake bit in the first half as she had several high percentage scoring opportunities but failed to make a shot, finishing the half with 4 free throws.  The second half was a different story as she continued to aggressively attack the basket and the shots started to fall, leading to an 18 point second half and a game high 22 points.  Ally Hart had a superb first half with 16 of her 18 points coming in the first 18 minutes, however, an ankle injury early in the second half sidelined her for the rest of the night.  Faith Fisher contributed 16 points.

Morgan Malone led Battle Lake with 12 points.  The Battlers hit 13-of-16 first half free throws to keep the game close and ended up 14-of-18 from the foul line.

Henning (1-1) will play at Pillager on Friday night, while Battle Lake (0-2) has a road game Tuesday at Rothsay.
