The loss of Logan Schleske, Jaxon Rich, Tristan Evavold and Brien Poser will certainly be felt by the Ottertail Central wrestling program as they enter the 2022-2023 season.  Three of those graduates were state entrants and the fourth was a 35-match winner.  State qualifier Kale Rich (Sr) returns at heavyweight and will serve as captain along with Tommy Ehlert (Sr 152) and Conner Nelson (Sr 145).

The Bulldogs also return senior Carson Roehl (138) and freshman Tayden Soma (132).  Other wrestlers looking to make an impact at the varsity level this winter are eighth-grader Mason Christianson (126), 7th-grader Lanston Barry (106), freshmen Xavier Lewis (145), Levi Evavold (152/160), Gaiden Hoeper (160), Will Schwartz (170) and Josh Larson (220), and sophomore Dylan Geihsler (106).

“We lost a lot of experience with last year’s seniors graduating, so we are looking to grow this year,” noted Head Coach Jason Rogers.  “Our main goal is to be better at the end of the season than we are right now and hopefully we can get a few into the state tournament.”

Rogers sees West Central Area, Border West and Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale/Parkers Prairie as the top teams in Section 6A.
