Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa defeated Henning 3-2 (20-25, 25-14, 33-31, 17-25, 15-11) on Saturday night in Fergus Falls, claiming the Section 6A volleyball championship in the process and qualifying for the Class A State Tournament which will be held November 10-12 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Senior outside hitter Ava Mueller of BBE was unstoppable throughout the match, recording 28 kills. She also served up eight straight points to close out the second set, which evened the match at a set apiece. Brooklyn Fisher of the Jaguars was also in double digits with a dozen kills.
Henning was led by seniors Becca Frederick and Ally Hart with 20 and 17 kills, respectively. Setter Lyvia Misegades added 8 kills and had 4 blocks.
Henning ends their season with a 25-6 record.
Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa will enter state tournament play with a 25-6 record and riding a six game winning streak.
