Bulldogs Improve to 2-0 with 43-7 Win Over Pillager

The Ottertail Central Bulldogs hosted the Pillager Huskies Friday night for their second game of the 2022 high school football season.  The Bulldogs opened play last week with a thrilling 28-27 win over Breckenridge.  They ran their record to 2-0 with a convincing 43-7 win over the Huskies.

OTC started the scoring with a 60 yard pass from Jack Mekalson to Owen Buehler.  After a defensive stop, Mekalson hooked up with Buehler again this time for 2 yards.  Bricker Bladow ran in the 2 point conversion.  Still in the first quarter, Tyler Christensen ran in a touchdown from 3 yards out and Christopher Fronning scored the 2 point try.  In the second quarter Mekalson hooked up with Mason Dalluge through the air for a touchdown pass and Buehler kicked the extra point.  Pillager finished the scoring in the first half with a touchdown and extra point to make the score 29-7 in favor of the Bulldogs at halftime.

In the second half OTC scored on a 6 yard pass to Mason Hammer and Mekalson ran in the 2 point conversion.  In the fourth quarter Bricker Bladow scored a touchdown with a 3 yard run to end all scoring in the game.    

Jack Mekalson threw the ball for 142 yards and 4 touchdowns and OTC combined for 199 yards rushing.  Defensively, Lane Dilly led the Bulldogs in tackles and also had an interception and fumble recovery.  

OTC will travel to Underwood to take on the Rockets on Friday night.
