The Ottertail Central 15U Babe Ruth Team lost a 10-9 decision to Fargo 61’s on Friday at the Midwest Plains Regional Tournament in Rapid City, South Dakota.  OTC rallied from a 5-0 deficit to tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the fourth inning, however, Fargo regained the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and held off a seventh inning rally by OTC to pick up the win.  OTC had 17 hits compared to 12 for Fargo.

Owen Harig (4-5, RBI, R), Drew Evavold (3-4, RBI, BB), Eric Fick (3-3, 2B, BB), Gavin Pausch (2-4, RBI, 2R, BB) and Ayden Olson (2-4, 2B, RBI, 2R, BB) were the hitting leaders for Ottertail Central.  Kale Misegades added a two-run double.

“We put together a lot of really good at bats today, but couldn’t string enough together to get the win,” reported Head Coach Evan Meece of OTC.  “We stranded too many runners on base and also allowed them too many extra bases, defensively.  We’ll fight back and rebound tomorrow and play the baseball we’re capable of playing.”

They will face the RC Sliders at 6:30pm Saturday and will complete Pool Play at 12:30pm Sunday against Chaffee.

OTC is in the American Division in Pool Play.  The top two teams in both the American and National Division will move into the Single Elimination Bracket of the tournament on Monday, August 1.  The Regional Champion and Runner-up advance to the Babe Ruth World Series in Stafford, Virginia, August 11 through August 21.
