Henning senior Matt Hendricks was a wrestler for the Ottertail Central Bulldogs and had planned on competing in track and field this spring.  His top sports memory is of the Bulldogs beating West Central Area to go to state in wrestling, saying, “Every match was so intense and I won mine in the last five seconds!”

“Matt was one of the hardest workers in the room and the wrestler with the most class on the mat,” commented Head Coach Scott Hart of OTC.  “He shows a tough exterior, but really is the most kind-hearted young man you will find.”

In high school Matt’s favorite subjects were Fitness Training, College Computer and Art.  He is undecided on continuing his education at this time.

“Wrestling has pushed me a lot to make myself better at life,” admitted Hendricks.  “My team and coaches are like a second family.  I’ve met so many people and learned so much from sports.  With no track this spring I have been working, working out at home, and fishing.”

His favorite quote is: “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.”

Hendricks says his Dad and his coaches have been the most influential people in his life.

He also has this advice for underclassmen: “Make each day count because time really flies by.”
